Indian Navy's First Indigenous Nuclear Submarine INS Arihant's Reactor Goes Critical

The Defence Minister Shri AK Antony has congratulated the Defence Scientists and personnel of Indian Navy and other organizations whose tireless efforts resulted in INS Arihant’s nuclear reactor attaining criticality early this morning. Describing it as a very important milestone in the nation’s journey towards self reliance in critical areas, Shri Antony said the indigenously built nuclear submarine would be the pride of the Navy when it joins the Fleet.

Its a good news that the reactor reached its criticality but still more to do. From the beginning the submarine arm has been neglected by the govts. at the centre resulting in just a handful of it left in the forces. Lets hope that we can do it fast for the successive reactors.
