Shri NN Vohra, the Governor of J&K was briefed by Lt Gen Subrata Saha, GOC,15 Corps on the relief and restoration operations launched by the Army under Mission Sahayata. He visited the flood affected areas inside the Badami Bagh Cantonment and was given a detailed overview of the damages suffered by various establishments within the Badami Bagh Cantonment and other Army camps in Kashmir.
Shri NN Vohra, commended all ranks of Chinar Corps for their relentless effort made during the floods in Kashmir towards rescue, relief and restoration operations, despite enormous challenges faced by the Army due to its own areas and personnel being badly affected due to the floods. The Governor assured all the support to enable the Army to overcome the losses suffered during the floods at the earliest possible time.
ARMY MEDICAL CAMP HELD AT KALHUM
A Medical cum Veterinary Camp was organised by the Army under Operation Sadhbhavana at Kalhum village in Bandipora district for the locals of flood affected area to ensure that the after effects of flood in terms of epidemic or other diseases be checked at initial stage. The locals were educated on hygiene and sanitation.
A joint team of doctors from the Army, NGOs and civil administration including lady doctors, veterinary doctor, nursing assistant and paramedics extended medical assistance to people of far flung flood affected areas of Kalhum.
In the camp elderly patients were screened for cataract and hypertension and adequate lifestyle changes and medication were advised. The veterinary doctors provided medical relief to the multitude of animals grazing in the higher reaches.
With attendance of around 444 people and around 466 animals, the medical cum veterinary camp by Army was an effort to reach the people of remote areas.
INFILTRATION BID FOILED ,FOUR MILITANTS KILLED.
An infiltration bid was foiled by the Army and four militants were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district near LoC .Four AK 47 rifles,assorted ammunition and warlike stores were recovered from the scene of the gunbattle that began in the wee hours today.
