Indian Army Takes To Yoga





True to its tradition, all rank of the Army including Defence civilian voluntarily participated in YOGA huge numbers to spread the awareness about YOGA for wellbeing of all.   Lieutenant General Jagbir Singh, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area alongwith Mrs Minnoo Singh, Zonal President of the Family Welfare Organization commenced the session along with all ranks in the Army Training Area.  

Similar sessions were held in all Cantonments across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala, where in 492 officers, 1400 Junior Commissioned officers, 18250 Soldiers and 5600 family members under Dakshin Bharat Area were participated in this event.


Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai Observes International Day Of Yoga


The entire fraternity of Officers Training Academy (OTA) which included officers, other ranks, Defence civilians and their families joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Yoga mission on the occasion of the first International Yoga Day.
Officer Training Academy (OTA) organized a special Yoga camp at the lawns in front of Parthibhan Gymnasium Hall at Officers Training Academy campus, to spread awareness about Yoga and its benefits.
           
Speaking on the occasion Lieutenant General Ravindra Pratap Sahi, Commandant, OTA said “Yoga classes as such are a regular feature and part of training curriculum for Gentlemen and Lady Cadets and OTA is equipped with a proper yoga hall and qualified yoga instructors”.
           
“Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. Maximum army troops participated in the International Yoga Day and adequate preparations were made for the same to make it a grand success” said Brigadier P S Sai, Officiating Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, OTA Chennai.
