Air Marshal Jasbir Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command (SAC), Indian Air Force, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Harbinder Walia, President, Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (Regional) arrived at Air Force Station, Sulur on 01 Jul 15 for a two day visit. This was their maiden visit to Air Force Station, Sulur after the Air Marshal took over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, SAC. They were received by Air Commodore Umesh Kumar, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Sulur and Mrs Rekha Umesh, President, Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (Local).
The Air Marshal, during his visit, reviewed the operational activities and progress made towards infrastructural development at the Station. He complimented the Station for meeting the air transportation tasks in support of our island territories, effective participation in various exercises and the effort put in by the Sarang Helicopter Display Team in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. In his interaction with air warriors, the Air Marshal expressed his satisfaction over the professional approach and commitment of the Station. He reiterated that all out efforts will be made to improve the working and living environment. He was also happy that the morale and motivation of the air warriors continued to be high, which is crucial for any fighting force. Mrs. Harbinder Walia reviewed the welfare activities undertaken by the Sanginis of the Station. She interacted with them and expressed her satisfaction on the overall progress made in various spheres of social activities of the Station.
